Philadelphia Flower Show (partnership)
Class Entry: 175: Pocket Garden Class: "What Easels You?": Mrs. Joy’s Art Class from Olney Charter High School:My 8th period class participated in the Pocket Garden Entry. We designed a small space with herbs and plants to cure "what ails you". Our entry was a free standing sculpture (wooden easel complete with many pockets and live plants). Students were inspired by artwork by Peter Max (Pop artist of the 1960s). All of my students received free tickets!
We won 2 Honorable Mention ribbons!

Class Entry: 167: Windowsill Class: "Surrealist Tea with Dali": Mrs. Joy’s Art Class from Olney Charter High School: My 3rd period art class received a perfect score from the judges! Students created pottery inspired by Salvador Dalí and created a windowsill display featuring a variety of bizarre cacti and succulents from the mediterranean! Students worked for 6 weeks with the Claymobile/Clay Studio to create bowls, cups, and chia pets for their windowsill display! Students also entered the Pressed Plants category and created pressed plant collages with real plant material with the theme: Umbrellas at The Beach. Students went on a field trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show to document their work and experience.

Individual Student Entries: Pressed Plants Class: My classes also created pressed plant entries for the Pressed Plant Class. Students submitted work to the Philadelphia Flower Show and many were exhibited!
